WHAT IS RPG DESIGN CAMP?
Design Camp is a collaborative experience where game designers and interested individuals share the process of RPG content creation. Our talented, and award-winning designers – Ben McFarland, Brian Suskind and Jaye Sonia – take you through the design process step by step.
BUT BEST OF ALL! - You'll have a chance to pitch your own design elements during the process, and vote to see what gets into the adventure!
WHAT IS THE ADVENTURE?
This time we are taking an older adventure, the Silver Box, and letting you adapt, change and add to it to make it awesome!
In the Silver Box a thrilling encounter with highwaymen uncovers a missing artifact that hurls the PCs into an amazing adventure and culminates in a dramatic shipboard battle in the city harbor.
Or does it?
Your decisions can and probably will alter the adventure toward new directions.
· Perhaps the whole adventure will take place in the cave complex
· Perhaps the city will turn out to be under siege by a vampire hoard
· Perhaps the conclusion will be atop a floating tower rather than a ship?
The options are limitless and the deciding factor is you! Don’t just run the adventure be part of the design process and choose the adventure!

Just got off the phone with my favorite fantasy artist of all-time Larry Elmore. He's doing a piece for the Mini-Dungeon Tome for 5th Edition & Pathfinder RPG. We met a few years back at Gen Con and even hung out with mutual friends Bevan Anderson and Sarika Anderson, but of course Larry meets thousands of fans- I think I was able to jock his memory a bit when I mentioned the Dragonlance Chronicles books I collected for him from used book stores. ;)
Larry is a quality human being and someone I would be happy to call my friend. What a down to earth, humble, grateful person Larry is. I was honored to be able to make this phone call today and want to thank James Simpson for the opportunity.

First off....

Yes, my mind has been blown at the support you've shown for the Mini-Dungeon Tome project. It's so awesome how we can all come together and make something like this possible. I still cannot convey how grateful our entire team is to have all of you support us in this way. We're going to bring you something very special my friends.
Final Stretch Goal... missed!?
Most backers were saddened not to make the final stretch goal so we're changing gears... due to Kickstarter, card processing fees, backers whose cards fail, and BackerKit fees, a considerable chunk of the funds will sadly magically disappear. Don't worry! We were planning on that as everyone gets a cut (including the IRS ;)
In order to make the final goal happen (especially now that we're moving to BackerKit) we'll have to increase it slightly from $175k to $176k. That means in BackerKit we'll need to gather another $10,532 - let's just make it a round $10k. In order to do this we need to offer some additional incentives- are you interested in a copy (PDF or PRINT) of Underworld Races & Classes for the same price we charged backers of that project? If so please click here to let us know which version of URC you would be willing to add to your cart in BackerKit to make this happen. This price will be lower than MSRP- special for backers of the Mini-Dungeon Tome! :)
Now, on to the final stretch goal discussion (going on in comments if you want to join)-- We had planned on offering GOLD FOIL on the cover and spine of the book along the title text and possibly on the smattering of gold pieces seen in the torchlight of the new cover. Some backers have voiced they would rather see the new high-level adventure Stephen Yeardley was writing (you had a choice of 2 on that stretch goal)- so if we chose that then both high level adventures would be included. Which do you prefer? Gold foil or another high level adventure (4-pages)? Vote here!
OK, so we know a TON of goals were met... but what does that mean? What do you get? Here's a quick graphical run down of everything you're now getting in this MASSIVE tome! Hey, it's your fault it's massive and that puts a BIG smile on my face!
Before I sign out for today I have a few more items to address. On the main Mini-Dungeon Tome Kickstarter page you'll see links on various stretch goals to place your vote. The items you're voting for include color of endpapers, head/tail bands, sewn in ribbon bookmark as well as a few adventures and other goodies. Please take the time to vote, you'll only have another 2 weeks to do so.
Again, thank YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We are eternally grateful to each and every one of you for making this project possible. The Mini-Dungeon Tome will now be a reality; it started around 200 pages and ended closer to 300. I hope you're ready for this, I know I am!

~COUNTDOWN 41 HOURS LEFT~
What a wild ride!
Tonight we did a countdown to add Larry Elmore's custom artwork to this tome which was planned at 2,314 backers. Each time we got a few more backers we would post the countdown in the comments. Finally we reached 2,313 backers... just one more to go... as the number ticked upward my jaw dropped, not only did we hit 2,314 backers to unlock Larry from the dungeon but we hit $125k and unlocked another freebie, a milestone goal, mystery goal, and the last map upgrade completing them all. I'm not sure who that backer was but I swear it must've been a dragon in human form.

That's right, we've added Larry Elmore to this massive tome... wait a second... Larry Elmore? You've now pushed this book so far along you're making MY dreams come true, I've been a fan of Larry Elmore's work since I was a child. As a teen his artwork adorned my walls alongside some of the other greats, but Larry was always my favorite. Of course Dragonlance Chronicles became required reading and many times I would take breaks from reading those pages just to stare at the beautiful cover art Larry Elmore had crafted.
Years later, I had the pleasure of meeting Larry Elmore at Gen Con in Indianapolis. He was down to earth, a real genuine quality human being without the ego that comes when so many achieve fame, I immediately took a liking to him. As we were talking he told me he no longer owns any of the Dragonlance Chronicles books with his art on the cover- they were redone with another artist in recent years. I made a mental note and upon returning from Gen Con I searched far and wide through various used bookstores until I tracked down and purchased all three books in the trilogy. The next year I returned to Gen Con and gave Larry the books, he was ecstatic! Since then I've gotten to know Larry a little better but I'm not sure if he even remembers me, I'm sure he meets fans everywhere he goes. Regardless, it made my day to make his. What an incredible artist and quality human being, I'm grateful to have not only met one of my heroes but through each of you made it possible for his artwork to go into the pages of our book. Tomorrow I pick up the phone and call Larry Elmore to "chat". *Mind blown*

Thank you to each and every one of you for making this book possible. You've pushed this Kickstarter along with such ferocity that we're now in uncharted territory for AAW Games. Very good things are ahead and we're giving you the chance to really make this book special, we'll tell you how in this video I just recorded on the fly (excuse any errors, I wanted to expedite this to you!)
Here's the latest on the cover art by Mates Laurentiu, it should be fully completed in 1-2 days! WOW! This is looking very cool. What do you think!?
